Ganesha Homestay — Homestay accommodation | ganeshahomestay.com
A homestay booking fails at predictable points — the bed code, the cancellation deadline, the ID check. This routine closes each one in order.
Step 1: shortlist and decode the room code before comparing prices. S is one bed, D is one bed for two people, T is two beds, TR is three, F is two to four. Step 2: confirm the bed width in writing — double 140 cm, queen 160 cm, king 180 cm — because 'double' describes occupancy, not comfort.
Step 3: choose the meal plan. EP is room only; CP adds breakfast served 07:00-10:00; MAP adds one more meal; HP fixes breakfast and dinner; AI covers all meals. In a host-occupied house the plan you pick decides how much of the household's day you share.
Step 4: fix your arrival time. Homestay check-in is commonly 12:00 and there is no night desk, so an unannounced evening arrival is the first typical failure — call it the locked-door arrival. Agree the hour before travel day.
On narrow screens, swipe or scroll the plate sideways.
Step 5: mark the cancellation deadline the moment you pay. Free cancellation on most listings closes 24-48 hours before the 14:00 check-in; missing it triggers the second typical failure, the first-night charge, which applies whatever the reason.
Step 6: prepare documents for every traveller. Under Italy's Alloggiati Web rules the host must register all foreign guests, minors included, within 24 hours of arrival; a guest without ID causes the third typical failure, the check-in refusal. Booking during the 10-day Ganesh Chaturthi peak — ending on Anant Chaturdashi — compresses all of this, so reserve early.
The decoder for steps 1-3 lives in Room Types and Meal Plan Codes Explained; the type-by-type trade-offs are in Homestay vs Hotel: What Actually Differs.
